Waterfoot village & Glenariff glen
Co Antrim.
This section of the coast road was built in 1817 by Francis Turnly a local landowner who often used this route when travelling between estates at Cushendall and Drumnasole just north of Carnlough. Previous to the Red Arch construction a narrow, very steep road had to be navigated in order to cross the headland
